Oh My Scrobbles: A Last.fm Scrobbler for Apple Music on Mac

Reading time: ~2 min ❓About as long as waiting for Spring to preload

I’ve been building a new project in my spare time while working through ideas for a few other apps.

Naturally, I found something to get distracted with.

Oh My Scrobbles is a Mac app for scrobbling Apple Music (and Radio!) to Last.fm and exploring your old listening history.

Like most projects I actually follow through on… this started with a huge itch I needed to scratch. I have over 300,000 scrobbles. I take this shit very seriously. 😉

It can sync my whole Last.fm history to my Mac and expose a local MCP server, so I can ask ChatGPT and Claude questions about it.

I used that to find the exact tracks I’d scrobbled just before and after creating my GitHub account in 2008. Apparently, that was information I needed.

The best part is that I get to use it constantly while building and testing it. Put on some music, notice something that could work better, fix it, and keep listening.

Doing one of my favorite things counts as testing now. The Halloween candy helped, too.

It’s ready for early beta testing. Fellow music geeks and data nerds… I’d love you to poke around.
